Homework

  • Type “Monster Scene” story on Google Docs

  •  read for 20 minutes each night. Half of the reading time should be out loud. 

  • IXL Third grade C. 6-10,  D.1-4


Social Studies

We finished our study of the 5 themes of geography and are switching to our first science unit.


Science 

We are starting our first unit, Power of Flower


Reading

We have been focusing our learning on understanding Asking and Answering Questions. We are diving into our text and looking to ask meaningful questions and find the answers within the text. 

  • I am also encouraging students to stick with one book and read it cover to cover. 


Writing

Once again writing notebooks will go home for you to read. This week we worked on many one paragraph pieces and a story about a scene we sketched out. We will finish the story next week.


Math

We will be reviewing #NBT1-3 and taking a summative assessment next week. Please review rounding and addition and subtraction with regrouping.

  Classroom Blog March 24, 2021 .  Reminder:  Please take your child’s temperature in the morning for health screening.      Meeting Sign UP If at any time you would like to meet please send me an email and I would be happy to meet with you at 8:30am.  Poetry We will be focusing on poetry next week. Students will need to pick a poem to present. They can either do a recording and put it in Google Drive or do it Friday at school.  I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. The link is in Google Classroom.   Classroom Blog April 30, 2021   Word Study:  No Word Study this week Testing: We will be doing NWEA testing Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Please make sure your student has a snack.
