Please Work On At Home: 1) Students are starting their biography projects. They have to read and take notes in their writing notebooks.
2) We are starting Perimeter and Area. Lots of practice will be needed to secure these skills. Please work on IXL DD
3) Please encourage your child to challenge themselves in their book choices. This might mean choosing a longer book or a book with higher vocabulary.
4) Take some time to encourage neat handwriting.
Reminder: Please take your child’s temperature in the morning for health screening.
Exciting Activities in Class: We made mini pinball machines (Tinker Crate) today to start our force and motion unit in science. Next week we will be starting a class project, building a Gravitrex Set. This is a marble run that I purchased at the Toy Store downtown. The students should really enjoy this.

Reading
We will be working on performance through readers theatre this week.
I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. The link is in Google Classroom.
Writing
Students will start working on their biography projects. They will be taking notes from multiple sources, writing a report, and giving an oral report.
Math
Multiplication Practice- Please make sure your student is practicing their multiplication facts at least a few times a week. They can do this with flashcards (they could even create their own on index cards!) or they could work on IXL: G for 10 mins 4 times a week. If you need index cards or supplies for flashcards, let me know and I can send them home. The kids have been working on the following facts on this sheet in class (let me know if you'd like a copy sent home!):

We are starting our Invisible Forces unit.
