Parents/guardians, you will NOT be able to access our Google Classroom, even if you have the code or link.  Only people in our Google domain (@stjoebears) can access our Google Classrooms so please sign in with your child’s account information.  Please remember that an adult must be in the same room as the child during Google Meets.

Homework

This week students need to do 12 units on Lexia Core 5 this week and read for 20 minutes each night. Half of the reading time should be out loud. 


Our Second Week

Hopefully your students told you all about the Glowforge Laser cutter and you saw their wooden name tag they made. We will continue to work on learning how to write in cursive as the year goes on. Each student should also bring home a book to read each night.  It is important for them to spend at least a few minutes reading out loud to help build their fluency.

One of the best parts of back to school night is seeing the room where your child will spend so much of their day. The students and I put together this presentation to show you all around the room and the new procedures we have in place to keep everyone healthy and safe.

  Classroom Blog March 24, 2021 .  Reminder:  Please take your child’s temperature in the morning for health screening.      Meeting Sign UP If at any time you would like to meet please send me an email and I would be happy to meet with you at 8:30am.  Poetry We will be focusing on poetry next week. Students will need to pick a poem to present. They can either do a recording and put it in Google Drive or do it Friday at school.  I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. The link is in Google Classroom.   Classroom Blog April 30, 2021   Word Study:  No Word Study this week Testing: We will be doing NWEA testing Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Please make sure your student has a snack.
