Homework

This week students need to do 12 units on Lexia Core 5 this week and read for 20 minutes each night. Half of the reading time should be out loud.

Social Studies

We are starting our study of Michigan History with learning all about Michigan’s State Symbols.


Reading

We are reviewing how to build reading stamina and comprehension.  I am also taking this time to assess each student so I will have many pieces of data to share with you at conferences.


Writing

We are spending our writing time working on writing paragraphs about small moments. Students will bring their notebook home on Friday. Please take a moment to read their first attempts this year at quick personal narratives.


Math

Our first math standard is 3NBT. Within this standard we are learning to round numbers successfully.

  Classroom Blog March 24, 2021 .  Reminder:  Please take your child’s temperature in the morning for health screening.      Meeting Sign UP If at any time you would like to meet please send me an email and I would be happy to meet with you at 8:30am.  Poetry We will be focusing on poetry next week. Students will need to pick a poem to present. They can either do a recording and put it in Google Drive or do it Friday at school.  I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. The link is in Google Classroom.   Classroom Blog April 30, 2021   Word Study:  No Word Study this week Testing: We will be doing NWEA testing Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Please make sure your student has a snack.
