Virtual Book Fair

Here is the link for our Virtual Scholastic Book Fair!  There are videos of staff reading books, there is a sign in where they can enter to win a prize and videos of some of the books available through Scholastic!

Reading

This week we will be working on identifying story elements and summarizing a text instead of doing a full retelling. 


  • I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. The link is in Google Classroom.


Writing

Students did a great job finishing their Turkey essays and I commented privately on their documents.


Math

We will continue our study of multiplication and division. It would be a good time to start memorizing those facts.

Gratitude


The week of the 23rd we will be starting our first lesson from the Positivity Project. We will be learning all about Gratitude which will go hand-in-hand with our Thanksgiving break. Check out our Gratitude Informational Sheet

They can do this with flashcards (they could even create their own on index cards!) or they could work on IXL: G for 10 mins 4 times a week. If you need index cards or supplies for flashcards, let me know and I can send them home. Students will need to pick a poem to present. They can either do a recording and put it in Google Drive or do it Friday at school.  I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. Homework  read for 20 minutes each night. Half of the reading time should be out loud.  A homework slip will go home Monday .
