Valentines Day Week: The week before Valentine's day we will focus on the word love in our Positivity Project. We will be making kindness cards for each other (using our new figurative language skills) and decorating a bag to collect them. If you would like to send in treats to add to the bag you are more than welcome to do so.
Reminder: Please take your child’s temperature in the morning for health screening.

Integrity

Reading
We will be working on performance through readers theatre this week.
I am encouraging students to do a two page recording of their reading on the My Guided Readers website. The link is in Google Classroom.
Writing
Students will continue to work on identifying and writing types of figurative language.
Math
Multiplication Practice- Please make sure your student is practicing their multiplication facts at least a few times a week. They can do this with flashcards (they could even create their own on index cards!) or they could work on IXL: G for 10 mins 4 times a week. If you need index cards or supplies for flashcards, let me know and I can send them home. The kids have been working on the following facts on this sheet in class (let me know if you'd like a copy sent home!):
We are finishing the unit Measurement and Data. We will have an assessment at the end of this week. We will also be continuing with 5 minute timed multiplication tests.

Social Studies
We are starting another Michigan History Unit. This unit focuses on the growth of Michigan as a state to present day.
